STI has been at the forefront in mobilizing and empowering the communities through support from Girls First Fund, ActionAid Uganda and internally generated funds to engage communities to protect the rights of women and girls while lobbying government especially leaders to prioritize opportunities that empower women and girls economically. At family level, improved relationships between spouses and children were highlighted as some of the changes that have come as a result of STIs work. As a result of sensitization and mobilization, women groups on economic empowerment and savings have been born and these are contributing to the improvement of the women’s sources of livelihood.
All the above achievements would not have been possible without a committed professional staff who continuously have strengthen STI’s solidarity with the people of Kapchorwa, Kween and Bukwo districts through such approaches best empowering them.
