The Sabiny Transformation Initiative conducted a medical assessment of 66 children and youth with disabilities in Kaptanya Sub-county. These children were subsequently examined with the support of a Pediatric Orthopedic and Eye Surgeon from Benedictine Eye Hospital, and recommendations were made for some of them to receive specialized care to help alleviate their conditions. Some of the children required an orthopedic surgeon’s review and surgery, which could be provided through the Building Effective Networks Project in partnership with Benedictine Eye Hospital.
As a result of such interventions, STI has successfully provided critical medical care to individuals with disabilities and injuries, leading to significant improvements in their quality of life.
